• Dr. Bray earned her PhD in Biomedical Sciences and Neuroscience in 2018. Her work focused on neurobiological pathways that enable stress hormones to alter reward neurotransmission, establishing a possible mechanism for stress-induced motivation and relapse. She received post-doctorate training in complementary and integrative health at Helfgott Research Institute that was funded by the National Institute of Health. Her work explores binge eating disorder and its possible pathology, phenotypical variety, environmental factors, treatment barriers, and complementary and integrative health interventions that can improve treatment outcomes. She has presented her work both through posters and orally at conferences both nationally and internationally, and won national and international recognition, awards, grants, and fellowships to support her work. She currently acts as founder and CEO of the NourishED Research Foundation (www.nourishrfi.org), which uses research to empower hope for eating disorders and the social justice issues that often contribute to them.

She has authored two books: O’Brien & Blair, Medicinal Cannabis and CBD in Mental Healthcare, Cham: Springer, 2021 and O’Brien & Sali, A Guide to Integrative Oncology, Springer 2017.
